Notes - - Asa and Wanda were driven to Elizabeth City, North Carolina and were married at a preacher's home about 5:00 pm on 12 May 1951. They were unable to take a honeymoon. Grandma returned to Fort Meyers to the Pentagon. Grandpa had to return to work immediately as well. On their 50th wedding anniversary, the Logue children gave them a honeymoon to Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Notes - - From 30 November 1945 - 20 August 1946, Asa served in the US Navy. From 19 July 1949 - 4 August 1953, he served in the US Army.
- Grandpa said he was given his father's name because they were both born on the same day (19 June).
When he was a boy, Grandpa and his siblings liked to play hop-scotch, hide & seek, red rover, and baseball.
Grandpa described his greatest strength as "my faith in God," and his greatest weakness as "spelling." He loved to fish and hunt.
Some next-door neighbors Grandpa remembered while growing up "were black people we called Uncle Tom & Aunt Sally."
While growing up in Harrison, Ga., a person Grandpa respected was Dr. Vicker's. A favorite store was "John Harrison's grocery store." Everyone would go into town on Saturday. The family worshipped at Harrison Baptist Church.
Grandpa's chores included feeding the mules and pigs, as well as feeding and milking the cow. On summer days he liked to wade in the creek, and on winter nights he liked to sit around the fire and listen to his parents tell stories.
An ice cream cone cost just 5 cents when Grandpa was young. He got around by "mule & wagon." Women wore bonnets and long dresses, while men wore hats and over-alls. Grandpa went on to write, "I was grown & married before I had a car. Grandma & I bought it in New York when we came home from France."
Two most exciting inventions of Grandpa's childhood was the cotton gin and the car.
Grandpa's first pet was a dog.
Grandpa's favorite person from the Bible: Paul.
In school at Harrison, Grandpa's best subject was reading. Worst was spelling.
Grandpa liked to listen to the Grand Old Opry. His favorite hymns were Amazing Grace, Old Rugged Cross, and It Is Well With My Soul. [Grandfather's Memories to His Grandchild, 2008]
- Asa and family live on land "lying and being in Land Lot Number 174 in the fifth Land District of Houston County, Georgia, known and designated as Lot 17 in Block "C" of Section No. 3 of Meadowcliff Park Subdivision, according to a plat survey of said subdivision made by Waddle Surveying Company on February 19, 1962, a copy of said plat of survey being of record in Map Book 7, page 170, Clerk's Office, Houston Superior Court.
