      MRS. HEDGE DIES IN HOSPITAL; RITES TO BE HELD FRIDAY

      Mrs. Clarence Hedge, 315 North Middle street, died at 7:08 a.m. today at St. Francis Hospital following an operation for the relief of appendicitis. She had been in the hospital for a week.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at General Baptist Church and interment will be in Fairmount cemetery.

      Born near Whitewater, July 19, 1907, Mrs. Hedge was formerly Miss Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jones. She was married nine years ago to Mr. Hedge and they have been residing here since that time. She joined the General Baptist Church at the age of 13 and had been a devoted member since, being active in the congregation here and teacher of the cradle roll department of the Sunday School.

      Leaves Two Children.
      Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Betty Lou 8 and Barbara Lee 2; her parents, who live with them; nine sisters and four brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Naomi Lancaster and Mrs. Delores Bullock of Cape Girardeau, Mrs. George Baker of Fornfelt, Mrs. Georgia Lincecum of Advance, Mrs. Octo Roberts of Coalinga, Cal., Mrs. Stella Tapp and Mrs. Lilly Hampton of Illmo, Mrs. Myrtle Jones of Whitewater and Mrs. Anna Blumenberg of Cape Girardeau. The brothers are Jack and T. J. Jones of Cape Girardeau and Fangie Jones and Harry Hector of Delta.

      The body was taken to the family home where it will remain until time for funeral services.
